I don’t understand your fascination with unanimous or split Decisions lmao. It changes nothing if it’s split and when Ank clearly won 2 and 4 plus with him also doing more in the 3rd round it’s not wild for 3 judges to have a unanimous decision for Alex. They scored it exactly how they should. It’s only 3 judges, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with a unanimous decision here.
You’re saying you can’t go all in on the guy but people said the same to Alex and Ank just walked him down all fight. Jan did it and Alex did his best work when he was toe to toe and pushing forward.
At the end of the day Ank won 3 out of 5 rounds. He deserved to win regardless of the belt or magnitude of the fight. Champs don’t get an extra advantage to hold the belt, that only existed in boxing so they can justify corruption lmao

The more i rewatch this and other Alex fights the more i realize southpaws really give him issues even back to his kickboxing days.
Ank did a great job neutralizing the lead hand by just winning the hand fight and circling it off while stepping or using the level change to get him thinking about takedowns. When he started losing the hand fights he’d go to the low kick or rear teep since Alex hands were extended to fights the hand fight. So much of Alex game is built off the jab and lead hook that it kinda stifles his whole game. He had opportunities to counter without being able to establish that range with the jab he couldn’t find the pull counters he usually hits. Ank did well to swap stances after the rear hand, usually wrestlers use that to land the takedown but he knew that and used it to land the ortho right hand. Alex could have countered but he was gunshot by that point. Getting that deep step in off the stance swap really sold the takedown threat and kept Alex backing up hard when he did that instead of countering
