what an absolute failure from both sides. pfl bent over backwards for him and f***ed themselves with an awful deal that made it impossible for him to fight unless dubai or saudi was willing to cover the cost of the event. francis in turn showed zero enthusiasm for pfl as an alternative to the ufc, refused to do any promotion for his fight with renan, didn’t show up to the first pfl africa event, spent most of his time in the media talking about boxing and treating pfl as an afterthought. all that combined with pfl’s typical brain dead decision making and all we’re left with is one of the biggest duds of a signing in recent history
