I have a Paramount account I bought like 4 years ago for $2 on a shady forum and that thing still works to this day
really surprised by this move. i fully expected them to hold out on the ppv model but the current numbers must be so bad that they don't believe it's even worth it to try and resurrect them. ariel was highly suggesting that the content was gonna be split up between different broadcasters (netflix gets fight nights, espn keeps apex shows and ppvs, etc) and that sounded awful, so i'm glad it's all in one place
i feel like we're gonna see some lengthy fighter contract negotiations in the future though. even if the ppv numbers are down, that's still another income source for the champs and they've just lost it and won't see any of the paramount money because they aren't unionized like every other major sport. the champs are gonna want to get paid now and the ufc can't give them the false promise of ppv sales, but that's an issue for the future i guess

Oof, that second paragraph...yeah
I wonder how this affects fighter pay. If champs don’t get PPV points do they do better on added subscriptions that month or based on viewership totals?
I’ll end up paying so it’s easier to stream and rewatch fights i missed but honestly i still feel like most people will just stream it

hopefully someone asks about ppv points going away during the post fight press conference on saturday
prob just keeping his options open in case a true mega fight does pop up but this is interesting
Baldy can put that garbage on Tubi
They won't receive anywhere near this, but it's sad and frustrating to see what they could be getting

https://twitter.com/jt_lines/status/1954927009999790357Fighters have nobody to blame but themselves with how often they undercut any attempt to unionize for an extra $60k

I can't really blame them for that though. Anyone can get cut at any time. The only two guys who have ever proven to be bigger than the organization are Conor and Jon. Everyone else could and would be let go in a heartbeat, and you're just not going to convince someone on a 12/12 contract to put their UFC career on the line. It's a f***ed up system but Dana has perfected it and at this point it doesn't seem like there's a path to better pay
My buddy says paramount app constantly crashes and is total dogshit. Can anyone confirm or clarify how well the app runs?
