None of the Griselda projects this year have stuck with me at all. Some good individual songs (“Nu Wave”, “Spurs 3”, “THE LIZ”, “Michael Irvin”) but I never find myself throwing anything on in its entirety. Only thing I’m really excited about re: Who Made the Sunshine is the Slick Rick feature.
you can only pull off "more of the same" for so long. hopefully Sunshine presents something fresh

Which is why MHL is better than y’all think
Which is why MHL is better than y’all think
fact
of course with talent like mach the bar is even higher and i would like to see more and more diversion from his average track, but mach has proven his versatility at this point so ill take what i can get

I’m still so disappointed in MHL

FKTG was by far Griselda’s most varied project tho

You really didn’t like the songs themselves or you can’t get past the length/“Photocopy Sloppy”/“Clout Dracula”? My least favorite song is probably “Pour House” since Mach kind of isn’t saying s*** on it but I still like the interplay between him and Droog.

Uhh well firstly it’s too short to have so many mid songs imo. As some itt have said previously, songs like SBTM and Squeaky Hinge are just bang average Mach songs that actually sound kinda dated to me. Plus Navy’s feature is the only decent part of Clout Dracula imo. Other songs are cool, but I feel like after the masterpiece that was WKJ, MHL falls way below the mark

Agree to disagree
I like “SBTM”, and “Squeaky Hinge” grew on me (wasn’t wowed initially either). I obviously wish the album were longer but any Mach project with less songs on it than HBO will never feel long enough for me or probably any of us.
Photocopy Sloppy is basically unlistenable with the talking IMO, such a bizarre choice because it's a great beat

That s*** grew on me, too, haha
i liked soon jah due but i got tired of that awful hook
Yeah, Mach would benefit from polishing hooks
Thought about it and Hommy Edition and Dumpmeister never felt too short to me, so I suppose anything not explicitly branded as an EP with less than 11 tracks is where I start to personally feel a little let down. Music-wise, though, I enjoy MHL just as much as WKJ, maybe even a little more; love WKJ but I don’t like any of it more than “Marshmallow Test” or “NJ Ultra”, so MHL has higher highs for me.

as a fan of both camps...Fahim/Mach/Droog been kinda disappointing this year too...Droog's Jewelry album at the end of last year was dope and I dug MHL for what it was but otherwise nothings really hooked me and so far these Fahim/Droog singles all been sounding a lil average so hopefully they're loosies and saving the best for the full length projects idk...as for Griselda I've liked their projects this year...Conway's From King To a God and Pray For Paris were both really good

Feeling the same with Droog and Fahim. Droog's barely dropped in 2020 so I think Q4 he's gonna dump wild.

I mean some ppl consider Jewelry a 2020 release considering it dropped so late in 2019 but otherwise I agree and hope for the same

All of them except “Tha Poverty Bothers Me” seem to be from Wall Street and Tha YOD Fahim. Dump YOD seems like it’ll be the big one; I think he said it was the album he’s always wanted to make.

he also said MHL was a mix of HBO and WKJ lol (if you're referring to Droog anyways)
