What's the consensus on this so far? Y'all like it better than Pray For Haiti?
nah but its good
I guess I just prefer him over grimier s***
Idk maybe I’m tripping I’ve only listened to the album once all the way thru
I feel you.
I love grimy s***...that being said.
Only one full listen?
Tried a bunch of times to get into Mach Hommy’s music
Give me the one song to reel me in to check the entire project

or Apple Juice
first of all, this is great, almost as good as pray for haiti IMO
that being said, maybe I just need to listen deeper, but with all the Haitian stuff I wish Mach would be willing to make a more overtly/focused political album... he makes a lot of vague references to the situation in Haiti but it really just feels like name dropping (the IMF etc)
the skit with his homie gassing him up for using the phrase "avaricious hypercaptalistic aims" feels like such pseud s***

When I think of it some of my fav songs are him on more soulful s*** so I can’t even say that’s true for me
Idk I guess I just wasn’t in the right headspace for this, maybe it’ll grow on me
has droog ever spoke about his work with Diddy after the allegations? he had an interview back in 2019 that mentioned him writing for Diddy but it got taken down that same year
I think this is miles better than p4h but i was never a big fan of that album

I'm cool with him just loosely addressing it personally
Political albums seem to bring in weird self-righteous fans and/or unrealistic expectations of the artists from fans
would it be fair to say there's a 'I prefer the grimy stuff' side of the fan base & 'I have no preference' side of the fanbase?

skit is probably one of the worst parts of the album along with The bar

1. The album’s called “rich ass Haitian”
2. The fact a looot of us don’t understand creole, that leaves out a lotta communication snd understanding of some of his lyrics.
3. Vague reference is crazy when Copy Cold outro is right there.
I think this is miles better than p4h but i was never a big fan of that album
I feel like the album as a whole is more consistent than P4H...I love P4H its the only vinyl I own of Machs so far and probably a tad more accessible than this one but there's a few tracks I don't go back to as often whereas with this one I pretty much love every song on here even if I wish a few were a bit longer

I feel the same that i wish it was longer but that’s just a testament to how good it is, I hate to see it end because im enjoying it so much

I just meant individual tracks lol Gorgon Zoe Lan and Sur Le Pont d'Avignon for example

In what aspects is this “miles better” than PFH?

I just don’t like p4h that much. My go to Mach album has always been hbo. I prefer the raps and beats better than p4h. Not saying it like it’s objective

Imma listen to FYI I haven’t heard it yet, thanks for putting me on

Especially with everything going on in haiti rn… although he may not want to touch that
