If it’s 7 to 2 to 1 then 8 shouldn’t win and the match should continue

Here is how I would say it:

20 rounds.
First to have an insurmountable lead wins.

(This is good for 3-way matches. Regular 1 on 1 matches make more sense to say first to X wins as we usually do)
