yeah they satanic af, they were kinda kidding with it tho. Slayer extremely GOAT one of the best and most important bands ever but prob not as accessible until revisits. I think you can hear (and see) Slayer more than anyone else in all the metal that followed their generation

nah i think slipknot is p good and honestly a p good entry band for people that represents the genre. i dont think any of their albums are amazing the whole way through but their highlights are good. i think a few of the highlights are less metal though where they have some good catchy songwriting like Snuff
