HD650 is the go to for tubes, as long as you don’t need a bunch of subbass
But don’t buy a 650, get the 6XX because it’s the exact same thing, just way cheaper cause it’s mass produced

I don’t even use crazy headphones with my tubes (though I’d like to one day)
I just use my HD650s that I bought used for like $175 years back. Built like truck and the perfect tube pairing if you don’t wanna spend a ton of money
For crazy technicalities, I put my money towards nice IEMs

When I heard through the grapevine they were reissuing Split Personalities, I sold my OG copy for $100

Tubes are less about ultra high def audio and more about the unique sound they give
Some tube guys get lost in the sauce and buy $7000 tube amps, but at that point, they just sound like clean solid state amps, so you played yourself

I have a $750 pair of IEMs that I got on sale + a discount code for $550, but those are really just $550 IEMs with a special retune and an expensive cable
So the nicest thing I have is basically a $550 iem
Which is already too much to spend on IEMs with how good affordable pairs have gotten. You can get like 80% of that performance for $200
