It seems to me most Americans are content. They like going to Walmart Saturday and watching football on Sunday. I don’t think most want or are willing to fight a civil war or a war period. One for our rights even, outside of a small few. I don’t see any catalyst for change. Economic downturn, stripping of our rights, holding our politicians accountable nothing will get them out of their comfort.
I can only see something from the outside changing here, something like you mentioned, dropping the US dollarFor sure. I don't know if I'd say people are completely content with the state of things, just content enough to not do anything drastic. Everybody is lobotomized by comfort and routine, me included. Most people can't even fathom a situation like that actually playing out, much less initiate or contribute to it.
Unfortunately, I think it will continue to be a "frog in boiling water". Anything that might be able to drive people to action would have to be fast, easily understandable, and cause their personal quality of life to suddenly tank by 75%+.
