BruuiiseesI feel like it's weird that et describes himself as like a centrist that leans left, but then he will also dismiss the possibility of their being a left that's closer to the center and he will act like they are all bad faith liars
Which like I feel like would also make it so he doesn't exist or is also lying about which side he leans towards

That's like the common online centrist criticism and I agree with that
But what I'm saying is he's taking it a step further and acting like a more reasonable left doesn't even really exist anymore and that they are all brainwashed and actually communists
But then he will also saying that he leans left while saying that all of the left is something that he doesn't agree with at all
So it makes no sense
Iv been in ny for almost 10 years and i still get uncomfortable around a group of gay people. Not bcause i hate gay people but because i hope i meet their standards

Like he says that he identifies with leftists values that also according to him don't exist anymore and when someone else claims to have them he thinks they are socialists in disguise
So either he's lying about where he leans or he's trying to say he's almost the only reasonable left leaning person left which is crazy
e tYeah I mean the current thing is like if we keep advancing AI so rapidly without taking the time to put in checks and balances, we may potentially end up causing a disaster.
And obviously that’s a strong reason to promote a slowdown. The problem is that if China doesn’t slow down and we do, we will end up 1000x worse.
Yeah I think they have the same goal for less extreme reasons

I’m gonna be a bit charitable and say he just likes exaggerating for debate engagement but I see what you mean.

Like Democrats don't want American AI to progress because they think the country will get worse and they are trying to help it
Some way further left people don't want American AI to progress because they think America is evil and they trust another country way more and want America to be beaten by them and fall behind in it
