If you end up actually trying this and go the Schiit Vali 3 route, you'll need to buy a desktop DAC and a pair of RCA cables. DACs are like the least important part of the chain (as long as they're competent) so don't feel like you gotta do a ton of research/spend a lot of money on that.

If you wanna be matchy matchy, get a Schiit Modi 5. The chassis is the exact same as the Vali 3, so you can stack them on top of each other.

But you can get away with a much cheaper Chinese DAC like the SMSL SU-1 or Topping DX1 II or something like that. Just google "best DACs under $X in 2026" and you'll get an idea for the ones people who INSIST they can tell a difference like (they're full of s***)

Make sure to get an actual desktop DAC and not a dongle, because a dongle will have an amp built in and then youll have to worry about whether or not it has line-level out that bypasses the amp, getting a special cable, and all sorts of bs

Also obviously don't feel obligated to actually buy or try any of this s*** just cause I explained so much about it. I just like talking about it, you won't hurt my feelings at all if it's not something you're actually interested in doing.
