because with videos and pictures your restricted by whats happening in real life or on a set. with paintings you can change things to emphasize a feeling that isnt happening in real life.
changing poses, the movement of the eye, speed of the eye’s movement, where it goes etc. you have a lot more control over in a painting.
and then ontop of that you can adjust how realistic you make something to convey a feeling more obviously

get with the timesnfts are just a form of independent copyright will have niche usecases like that in the future.
and ai art I look at as a seperate genre than paintings. its like if you pass off a photograph as a painting its garbage, but a photograph can be enjoyable in its own right. it will have a lane and usecase, but wont replace painting or drawing or anything like that outright.

tbh this is a great idea.
my mentor has strongly pushed me into doing portraits for a living. and I would love to do it.
once I get some income going with animation and can kinda breath and get myself situated, the shift to fine art will involve portraiture as an intermediary for certain.
plus i enjoy just spending time with people and drawing/painting them, its very fulfilling to me
