I dont think North Korea fetishization is good by any means
And I'm not saying the ends justify the means here
But North Korea lowkey achieved exactly what they were trying to do and it's kinda bonkers
For decades, all you'd here about nonstop is North Korea, and it was basically portrayed as a LARP state doomed to fail with a starving and suffering population (rightfully so).
You ever wonder why s***s gotten so quiet on that front over the last few years? It's because North Korea's strategy of putting every penny, nickel and dime into their military shockingly finally paid off, and their economy has made a massive recovery.
Their philosophy was to get missiles that could actually reach the United States as fast as possible. They achieved that, making them a real, formidable nuclear power on the world stage that we actually have to negotiate with. China and Russia are now competing for Kim Jung Un's good graces, which is why you see him popping out with Xi and Putin at major events way more often. Money is now being diverted back to making life livable for the general populace, so the quality of life and infrastructure is rapidly improving.
Once again, not saying they're a good entity by any means, but they kinda let their nuts hang on everybody after decades of being a global pariah made fun of the world over.
