Tuneoutthats true. i find the top charts have some good things and a lot of stuff i like but its not like amazing. its a site thats very idk like u said influenced by a similar demographic, that im not a lot of the time for the general stuff.
ive found some all time albums by doing top charts on niche genres.
i find a huge amount of albums i listen to my filtering the top charts in a very specific way
even finding the ones that only have like 10 total ratings that way is really helpful
