rviyou should def peep some earlier Edu Lobo and Marcos Valle as well
maybe not really pure bossa nova but its more from the bossa nova/samba branch of Brazil music that is half what fed into early MPB alongside the other half being the 'sgt peppers' type

I was just listening to Valle's 'Samba De Verão' yesterday and spinning Edu Lobo's 'Cantiga de Longe' album today Was also checking out Roberto Silva yesterday because Joao said in an interview that we was listening to him. Roberto sounds a lot more classic style with vocals and samba than the more jazzy wood-wind voice of Joao
