I wouldn’t go that far but his quirky ear isn’t the same as Chad’s. It makes the songs stick out in a goofy way rather than in a forward thinking or unexpected way

To me the test will be whether he can finally secure a major hit (Steve did it on his second try) on the next album and whether he can move into the P lane of producing for others (unlikely bc every song he produces for others stands out, his sound is too idiosyncratic)

Nah fr I forget exactly which song it was bc I was cooking while listening but one of them s***s was a straight up rock song and it tough as brix I was not expecting that at all

Tyler is good for a few placements on smaller artist's albums but he's usually turned down by major artists. Back then it was Major artists seeking out the Neptunes for a hit or two.

Hit Different grew on me but something about new Neptunes just isn’t quite right
