top tier neptunes production
would do anything for them to revisit that sound
I really think it’s just P’s drums man, they don’t hit anymore
I just heard it for the first time a few days ago but low key… it might be their opus
listen to phillys most wanted if you wanna hear some more extremely underrated neptunes production
they went crazy on their album

soooo dope
Wanderland is crazy
Great, great album, the people who know, know but it still feels slapt on

It's difficult to argue with this. Especially with songs like Mr. UFO Man, Shooting Stars and Perfect Day
Wanderland flopping will never sit right with me

Their prime sound still sounds like nothing else wtf
As much as Tyler is a P child his s*** ain’t even close to prime Neptune’s yet

tyler production don't really hit for me
s*** way too derivative and unoriginal..

I had like one song saved off it for years and finally decided to peep, too good

I agree with this. I love Tyler's production style but the student still hasn't surpassed the teacher and at this point I'm still not convinced he ever will

It was too ahead of it’s time real s***, imagine if SZA dropped that exact same album now
i still can't believe how amazing the beat for alright by kendrick is but my suspicion is sounwave is the reason that beat is as good as it is lol

I wouldn’t go that far but his quirky ear isn’t the same as Chad’s. It makes the songs stick out in a goofy way rather than in a forward thinking or unexpected way
He has some great tracks when he’s doing his own thing tho

Or Willow Smith,it'd win Grammys. I just don't think anyone today could really match Kelis attitude during that era,she was really a punk rock/R&B black alternative chick in the yr 2000,let that sink in

The world isn't ready for that, love.
It wouldn't sound like Hit Different, not that it's a bad song, but it would be leagues above it in every aspect

Stop it! Don't forget Pharrell did this 3 years prior to Alright

To me the test will be whether he can finally secure a major hit (Steve did it on his second try) on the next album and whether he can move into the P lane of producing for others (unlikely bc every song he produces for others stands out, his sound is too idiosyncratic)

Nah fr I forget exactly which song it was bc I was cooking while listening but one of them s***s was a straight up rock song and it tough as brix I was not expecting that at all
Deffly ahead of her time

!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOP9akjXWhAthe jazzy elements to the production on alright really elevated that song to a whole different level, it wasn't Pharrell that made it as amazing it is lol
this is an amazing beat tho
lol i first discovered this on soundcloud years ago under the name “Frank Ocean - Thin Line”
just now learning this isnt frank at all

Tyler gonna have to become a workhorse and produce whole albums. Artist are gonna have to agree to it tho but it'd definitely be interesting

Tyler is good for a few placements on smaller artist's albums but he's usually turned down by major artists. Back then it was Major artists seeking out the Neptunes for a hit or two.

Hit Different grew on me but something about new Neptunes just isn’t quite right
It really might just be the drums lmao
