In the 90s they wrote a story where the Green Lantern at the time, Hal Jordan, went crazy and killed some people and was taken over by parallax (the living embodiment of fear) and then defeated

This is his Green Lantern comeback story. They brought him back to life in an older story basically by making his soul the host of the Spectre (the spirit of vengeance), but he was not the Green lantern.

Parallax is revealed to also be in his soul with the Spectre. A bunch of chaos happens. Parallax escapes his soul and takes over this super powerful little blue guy Ganthet. Ganthet is one of the guardians (they control the green lantern corps they are tiny ancient blue guys that are super powerful)

So he’s no longer a green lantern? i imagine the spectre gives him crazy powers then

A real highlight of his story is when Hal Jordan is finally back he and the other green lanterns are going to go defeat parallax

Batman is being a huge jerk and trying to stop them because he doesn't trust hal jordan (reasonable after the parallax crash out that he did but still shut up Batman)

Hal Jordan does not argue with Batman. He just punches him right in the jaw

Then batman kinda just gives up and the green lanterns go and do their thing

Won't be able to discuss much until later at night but I found the story to be rlly confusing at parts Idk if it was due to not knowing old lore (altho somethings are cause of it such as me not knowing who the guy in prison is) or how the story was told. Cause for the most part I deadass was wondering if Hal was alive or not the whole time and it got more confusing with his "old" body being sealed?? I also don't fully understand who/what exactly Spectre is. It was a bit unclear whether he was a good or evil person inside of Hal.

Those confusing things aside I did enjoy seeing the tie in with all the other heroes and found it funny how batman was portrayed as constantly aura farming until the end where Hal smacked him as u said

Justice league looked hella ass against Parallax too The last chapter with the fight being concluded was cool.

Overall think me being confused half the time reading this took a bit from the enjoyment of it for me but it was still good nonetheless.

His soul is free of parallax so it returns to his body and he's a cool green lantern again

It's a very nice comeback everyone is happy about it except for Batman
