At the same time, life wasn’t as automated back then. Like you couldn’t just order s*** off Amazon or easily get grocery delivery or pay your bills and bank online. There was plenty of mundane s*** to fill the time

Yeah but it’s like they had no choice so it didn’t seem as overbearing as it does to me rn. If the internet went dark and I had to do everything manually i don’t think I could handle it
