I assumed the Russian lady exploding everyone would be explained later yeah. They also had a translation at the end of the book for those pages. She knew of savoy somehow, and later he ended up basically revealing he's a double agent fighting for what he claims is the greater good. So probably connected.

Its a longer series so I'm sure more gets added and it becomes more satisfying as it goes

This felt more like an intro to the idea and wasn't super satisfying as a like standalone thing though ya

The characters aren't fleshed out yet, no storyline was very big or complex or satisfying

It was pretty much just showing you the concept and how it works I think

There's 9 whole books tho there's lots of room for them to improve on that it's probably less of a noticeable issue if you just go and read the next one immediately after

yeah when i first read it i read like 2 or volumes back to back i never really thought of how like a single volume on its own stand.
its different than the other comics we read in that sense. its like showing someone a great movie but cutting it off after 30 minutes
