I think lyrics add a nice vibe from time but like
man phish was good the other day. Gonna peep more of there stuff tomorrow

i think because they've been active for so long and the key members are still alive they feel less special and historically
in my mind they go from being a relic and foundational piece of a genre/era to being a bunch of washed up geriatrics who feel alien in a world that's moved passed them

they have a few alright albums in 80s-00s but nothing that really adds anything to their catalog or justifies its existence
their 80s album Dirty Work is legit one of the worst ever its crazy how they didnt call it quits after that
