New Slaves performance was met with widespread acclaimik this is just anecdotal but i can attest that in real life it was controversial and mixed reception. and a clear difference from how MBDTF was received by the public even if the critical acclaim was unanimous for both with iconic moments, appearances etc.
some people also didnt like the angle of him calling himself yeezus and saying "i am a god" so there is that other angle that casuals derided it with too. my senior year english teacher denounced it in class because he was calling himself yeezus lol
