Let It Be is definitely better than Beatles For Sale though. It had a lot of great songs on it.

It does but it's still a tainted disjointed mess

In Elton’s case it was a little bit easier though cuz he never wrote his own lyrics.

Absolutely but on the flipside he had to arrange all of the verses, do the backing tracks and then tell his bandmates how to harmonise which is just as tough

Aside from the terrible orchestra added on The Long And Winding Road, I think Phil Spector made the best album he could out of the material available. Atleast he let The Beatles go out on a good album even if Abbey Road is the true finale.

Most of those Elton songs didn't have the verses in the order you hear them it was just a straight poem/page of lyrics and he'd have to structure it into verse-chorus-bridge and remove any filler lyrics

He made up for it with his work on Imagine for sure too

That’s true but that’s still easier than coming up with everything from stratch.

Not a good matchup, Elton getting washed. Especially on KTT2.

They tried the best to salvage that cobbled mess lol What do you think other Glyn John's mix?

Some of it was too stripped back for my liking but hearing Let It Be and The Long And Winding Road as they were intended was great. Having Don’t Let Me Down on there as it always should’ve been was great too.

The best version of Let It Be lies somewhere between Naked and Phil’s version.

That VZ is going to get like 2-3 participants tbh

They just don’t have the appropriate audience here, as much as I’d love to see it.

The added reverb f***ed it up for me. It's supposed to be naked not slathered, Paul.
