I'm not the type of guy who believes in " Everything happens for a reason " I dont know how to explain it.
I hope you know what I mean
Yeeee I get it. I think I believe in it but not because there’s some like spiritual entity more like you living life the way you living it, your path not anyone else’s so the things that you want to happen will naturally happen over time.

Is a thread
Ktt so washed and lame
Like I believe in manifestation but not because the universe will make me rich but because if I talk about it enough and believe it enough I’ll probably passively or subconsciously make decisions and actions that work towards that even if they’re tiny and I don’t even recognize them.

I just think " if everything happens for a reason " why do people get cancer and stuff then? That's unfair

Yea manifestation is different, but it doesnt get to you out of the blue

Okay that’s fair. But I mean there’s still unpredictability and I guess I think maybe that’s okay? Like if I got cancer tomorrow what am I going to do about it. I can’t predict it or change it so I just have to live the best I can with it. Maybe it’ll expose me to new friends or force me to take new risks I wouldn’t have otherwise. Idk not tryna make cancer positive but life is just life. Live with the cards you’re dealt can’t control it it’s up to “fate”.

Well no like you can do things that help prevent cancer lol
Not smoking, eating healthy, wearing sunscreen etc

Yeah but I could take every right step to prevent it and still get it. It’s out of my control.

Well yeah everything is a probablity in life but low probability things don’t happen that often. It’s when you increase the odds is when you have to worry more
Look everyone et is having another "well actually" moment

Sure but I think the convo was more so around the fact that you can’t control life 100% not that you could maybe control it 95%.
If you can’t control life 100% you just gotta roll with the punches and accept that. I think for me that manifest as a “everything happens for a reason” or a “it’s fate” mentality.

Yeah I agree. I know the example was a bit overkill, but you get it
My mom had breastcancer while I was a kid, and if " everything happens for a reason " i dont see the purpose. Young mom alone with 2 kids getting cancer like that's what's the purpose of everything happens for a reason. I dont see the reason
Look everyone et is having another "well actually" moment
Im here dw

Yeah that’s completely fair. I think at the root it’s just the mentality around accepting you can’t control everything and for me personally that works out to a “everything is a reason”type mentality. For others it might be a religious thing or whatever.
Et is right though
They always out to suppress realness in here cause it clashes with their worldviews. Sad.

Keep going
Youre out of this world 🛸
IMO religion is just another format for people to cope with the unpredictability and lack of control in the world.
Oh we have no control over the weather so there must be a superior being that does and if we praise it we will have some resemblance of control.
Nothing happens for any reason. It just happens. Anything else is magical thinking. Take control of your own life to the best of your ability instead of believing something else will do it for you, imo.
