    i would like to say i still like all music genres basically equally but i have to admit rock is the biggest speciality (and even metal more specifically)

    ive heard almost 5000 rock albums including well over 1k metal

    @mos_def when it comes to rock albums versus great songs, Your best bet is to start in 1965/1966

    Rubber Soul and Pet Sounds are like the first 2 that really approached the “album” as like a structured statement rather then just a collection of songs put together.

    Bob Dylan fathered those both with his 1965 albums though

    Bob Dylan fathered those both with his 1965 albums though

    I look at him as more of a peer who influenced his other peers then being a direct architect for the album format itself

    The “album” as it is, kind of just happened and Dylan def played a part in that with how seriously he took his content and lyrics within the music, and other people saw that and began to apply it to a bigger picture outside of the single minded format.
