    a pretty obscure blend but

    Imperial Triumphant - Vile Luxury
    Cynic - Focus
    Atheist - Elements
    John Zorn - Naked City

thats more like 75% metal 25% jazz though, (and last one maybe a bit more punk than metal tbf)

Jazz metal sounds hard af as a category homie

Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
    Nirvana - Nevermind
The Strokes - Is This It
    The Beatles - Abbey Road

honestly these 4 prob good basic ones too start with, but also just gotta keep in mind that the diversity of the genre is insane

solid list even though I'm not really a fan of The Strokes

    WESLEYS THEORY

The majority of music is connected in some way regardless of genre

Like a lot of Hip-Hop is rooted in Funk, Jazz and Rhythm and Blues

And country for example is an Americanized version of folk (originally)

And rock and roll was just an appropriated white washed version of rhythm and blues that didn’t start to find its own identity until the mid 60s

nitpicking but still more of an identity in the 50s for rock i think. main thing is stuff like the energy and mix of country elements with the rhythm and blues. Chuck Berry kind of a world away from the rhythm and blues world already with his guitar s*** and people calling him a black hillbilly

I was 12 years old and my first two CD's were Eminem Curtain Call and Nirvana Greatest Hits

I would spin those to death and learn every song pretty much inside out

Having access to everything now is great but I wouldn't trade that for the world
