The trade off of
Options/variety
Cost
Customizability
For convenience doesn't seem worth it to me at all
Cost is relative. For my use case I’d be spending the same money regardless. And all things considered the Mac mini is the best value small pc on the market right now.
Outside of Android “launchers” you don’t lose much customizability. Having less customizability and it just working the correct way out of the box is a positive for me personally.
Not saying you have to buy Apple. They definitely have some outrageously priced s***. But I think people are quick to dislike Apple.

The customizability refers to the computers you apparently can't upgrade

I don't hate apple rlly I'm speaking more objectively/trying to judge it from the perspective of someone who is more interested in technology.
The trade off seems large for minor convenience
Personally I have no interest in computers. I would buy an apple thing if it was the best deal (this is almost never the case though). I wouldn't buy it to fit into some ecosystem that limits you though

in many cases it's less convenient. "is this compatible with apple?"
the fact they has to be forced to implement usb c says it all
i dont know whats convenient about never being able to retire and having to work forever but to each their own

?
Do you think buying apple products is what is stopping people from being able to retire
I feel like this isn't the case unless like they are very badly addicted to technology

For a laptop, I code for my job so windows is automatically written off.
For a phone I’m buying a flagship either way and I can’t be seen with those green bubbles.
