My uncle who bless his soul isn’t with us anymore, took out a life insurance policy because he didn’t think he was gonna live a long life due to his slightly reckless nature as a free spirit.

My mom and him had a very close relationship, and he told my mom the money would go to her if he ever passed away, to help her and dad out with finances for me and brother

But they ended up having a fallout over it and he ended up putting the life insurance policy to go towards my grandparents. It was worth $1 million.

He died 6 months after they fell out, before they had the chance to eventually reconcile. The money went to my grandparents. Mom was destroyed over losing her brother and the guilt of falling out over money. Grandma went against my uncles wishes and gave my mom 60K for the sake of helping me and brother out.
