honestly i do respect that 2nd language learning is not beneficial or necessary for everyone (mostly thinking english native speakers)p sure your reasons are different than mine but i recognize that im learning out of interest, being good at it, having extra time and financial security. lot of people arent in a place for that its hard for me to fully embrace the "everyone should learn a 2nd language" thing
I’m learning for pretty much the same reasons and then also getting into my culture and realizing how much I felt left out now knowing Spanish on top of it
Other than that tho I disagree to an extent in the sense that it takes little effort to learn a language as you’ve been seeing. Just time. Not saying people have to but as far as financial security that’s poppycock I was broke as s*** learning it anyway bc I wanted to. Wanting it is a big thing for sure
