I applied for a job at a music store. Like a guitar center type store.
Was super excited about that one. Went in with a resume and cover letter. Applied online after being told to do so.
Timeline is, I went inside the store and wanted to speak to the manager, but couldn’t because he was in a meeting. Sales associate took the résumé and cover letter, told me he liked me and would recommend me for an interview after I applied online.
Called back a couple days later and asked if the manager had gotten to it yet, sales associate told me he would and he’d been busy lately
NEVER GOT A CALL BACK.

Poopfeast420Idk how record shops even exist. Most are probably money laundering fronts. It’s so hard to compete with the internet as a brick and mortar store unless you really specialize in rare or unique items

It’s not but there are certain stereotypes that are hard to defeat. How many male house cleaners do you see, especially 20’year old ones? I’ve never seen one personally, nor would I hire one. Because young single men generally keep disgusting homes, lack attention to detail and will probably cut corners when cleaning or f*** something up. Women, in general, are just better at certain things.

do u have prior experience that you can use as part of the transition from physical job to office job? ie. were you a leader, did you work in a specific industry, etc
I have skills that I believe could translate over to multiple different markets, with proper training.
I was also employee of the month at one of the jobs, which I told the women on the zoom interview about

way easier to sell those and other music related items like merch and designs than opening a restaurant/bar or some s*** like that

i used to think the same but then i realized doing something like data science for spotify or whatever is actually kinda harmful to music lowkey so i feel like i probably wouldnt want to do that. only thing id want is ethnomusicology or music history or something. which would require getting more degrees lol
