I will say this

Timberlake was onto something trying mix Americana and Country with R&B. Would’ve definitely alligned well 5-6 years later with the rise of Country in the mainstream again. He was just a little too early for the game.

With that being said, keep the music. I don’t care if it’s more ambitious atleast then the recent one, that doesn’t make it good at all.

Concept wise, he was ahead of his time. It was just really poor timing with people accusing him of being a culture vulture and people acting like they were personally fighting for Janet’s honor when he was rolling out his album

Post Malone basically did the same thing he did then with much more success, even with the culture vulture allegations thrown at him.

Execution wise? Still not good Nort. Nobody trying listen to that album in 2025, much less 2018. It didn’t go under the radar, it was ass. I’m not cutting the guy who made Justified slack.
