i mean shaming people into agreeing with you is a big portion of how democrats lost the last election

more often than not I think people do want to hear you out and contemplate but when you start with personal attacks or shame thats not setting an educational tone.

see a lot of it on here even in regards to rap, a lot of

"if you dont agree with me you're < insert namecalling >"

that doesn't leave the door open to have a discussion, teach someone, anything. what if maybe i just didnt understand the topic completely or got information from the wrong source, this could be a chance to educate and build support but instead you've made it a hostile environment for a person to ask questions or share their views. f*** maybe you're wrong but again you've completely closed the door to having a mature conversation already.

Nah I like @americana and agree with him usually but like it confuses me in general and it's something I see people do a lot

He's an educated guy, so it confuses me when I see him treat a cause he obviously knows a lot about and cares a lot about with a lack of tact in a way that could be damaging

I don't listen to him and don't care about him and I encourage people to feel however negative they want to feel about him and say whatever they want in private

I just don't see how it's productive to do that publicly based on timing

we have like 1000s of emojis in slack and i guess some are not very work friendly so now we have a policy about what can/cant be used
