Dumbass gen alpha kids will write off genuinely creative and unique stuff that sounds good if it doesn’t fit a certain mold that the streamers they watch will gas up.
It makes sense why some of them are scared to really innovate.
You’re only really given a pass for trying something innovative if you have a fanbase that supports it as apart of your aesthetic

Yeah, it's a terrible popularity contest now. Great rappers and rockers back then were weird in their own way cause that's what it kind of took to be a creative, except they were genuine about their craft and expressing themselves. Everything's an act now, and a lot of stuff rappers/artist try to attempt, they don't even understand.
Yachty had no business making a rock album, and it was barely rock music at that.
