It's something about the combination of it sounding overtly wholesome but also trippy. It's like it's perfect but it realizes it's too perfect and you can detect that it almost wants to let itself slip.

Yeah almost like it’s a few notes away from like being scary music I can def get that from it

And like nort said something about their harmonies mixed with that over the top wholesomeness could be read as unsettling if you wanted to read it that way

It gives me the vibe of someone staring directly into your eyes and saying something kind to you but you can read that there is another feeling behind what is being said. Like there is a part of what is there that is not being openly displayed but you can still detect it. A dishonest or eery tinge behind an outwardly wholesome nature that is sneaking through and slightly muddying up the water.
