xxxkiraxxxThey found the Twitter account of one of the guys and he was blindly supporting Netanyahu & the IDF. If you strongly oppose Israels policies in Gaza then you wouldn’t work for the Israeli state as you would be helping represent or support the state diplomatically.
I think in America there’s more playroom ig so that’s why the comparison falls a little flat. I mean I’d still look at you a certain way but in Israel, government service is tightly linked to national ideology and "security", so working for the state while opposing its core policies (which are anti-Palestinian in nature!) would be highly unusual. In the U.S., there’s arguably more ideological diversity within public service. Someone might work in a government agency while disagreeing with certain foreign policy decisions, and still be seen as trying to reform from within or simply doing their job. It has its limits ultimately but it’s different fs.
To the second statement - these types of actions are called adventurism by Marxists. Basically reckless, unstrategic, or premature use of faux revolutionary action, especially when it’s disconnected from the political realities or the support of the working class. Actions that may look militant but only ultimately serve to provoke state crackdowns without advancing the cause. It alienates the working masses & it often leads to setbacks for legitimate revolutionary movement rather than progress.
Many people support Netanyahu and the IDF, including a lot of the western world outside of Israel and in particular America.
Regardless, I don’t think an individual who does is deserving of death. Ideology isn’t an intrinsic choice. It arises from a set of factors and influences, and is more of a systemic issue than an individual decision. It’s been proven over and over again in psychological and thought experiments that people’s beliefs are not a conscious decision. And that they can be changed under the right circumstances.
Nobody, outside of sociopaths, is unsalvageable. And celebrating murder shouts a significantly poor understanding of the world.
