Being a shift leader kinda sucks
You make a bit more money but like have more expectations and responsibility
It depends how much the raise is for you at that place if it's worth it and how annoying management is
It's just like added responsibility without the ability to tell people when they are being dumb
If the raise is significant it's fine but like it's just a harder version of the job you already have basically

i’m told shift leader is hardly different than what I currently am and just involves making more money
like i do 2 extra things

Basically but it depends on how annoying the management is like I said
A lot of the time the shift leader position will be complained at first because they infantilize whoever else you work with

The manager is a cool guy and my best friend at the place is his son who is usually working beside me.

It seems like you asked me a question and already had an answer to the question
like shift lead at this place is moreso a title than anything its not like it’ll be a huge shift in dynamics

For me personally it was fine because corporate didn't respect the manager that was here so I wasn't concerned about his complaining
For other people it's annoying
It just depends yeah

Make her look bad because she's new if you want a promotion and already have a decent reputation there
Get along with her if you don't care about staying and want things to be easy

Yeah most of managements reaction to you as an employee will be based on comparing you to other people due to what you say and how annoying you are
So just speak like you are more competent then the people around you and always maintain composure/stay out of any work place drama
The jobs themselves are usually simple enough and it's hard to cause a real problem that will make them really mad at you unless you're a real idiot
Do you ever wish you could die and start over
Do you ever wish you could die and start over
I do sometimes, but I know its wrong. Those memories exist for others, it would be cruel to take them. I wanna sleep forever
Do you ever wish you could die and start over
Sometimes but in my fantasy I’m not just starting my own life over, it’s a different life

Manager tells me he’s yet to hear a bad word about me; so that’s good.
I just wonder if that’ll change a bit once I’m in-charge of others.
but lately, my coworkers have been telling customers that I’m in-charge when dealing with a crabby customer because those are my favorites.
