For most people what they value the most wouldn't just be the concept of permanence
Most people would tell you they want to be happy
You do things that bring you joy and sometimes you sacrifice and do things that will put you in the direction of feeling more joy

Nonsense.
Even if you don’t find music as a viable career path forward, so? If you love to do it, and it brings you happiness, don’t stop!
I’m actually in a similar predicament now because I’m afraid of how much attention IT/Cybersecurity is gonna require. I’m scared I’m sacrificing a part of my identity, but I’m beginning to see there’s a lot of freedom in not having your means of living be reliant on your passions.
Whatever you choose to do, you shouldn’t have to say goodbye to that creative spirit of yours.
I think there's a such thing as being too goal oriented
Like if you lived your entire life trying to do something that you enjoyed, even in the meanwhile you had to deal with some things that you didn't enjoy
That's not really wasting your life
Even if you never make it as a successful musician you still dedicated your life to doing something that made you happy and that you were passionate about
I don't think defining your journey strictly based on the end results is a way to live
