BM_God the Taylor's versions all suck ass
they're so bad man, u can like pinpoint ANY part of the song and it's just awful compared to the og
the mixing is so wrong, the synths and VSTs are all completely flat and way too clean, the vocals suck ass

when she started to re-release her old albums one of the articles by rolling stone or maybe pitchfork interviewed people doing it and shellback who did a lot of 1989 was asked about it and he said max martin had no interest in doing anything with old material and would be open to fresh material instead
plus reputation was terrible and max martin did most of the album and she likely blames him for that

my biggest issue with her music is how limited and same-y all her songs are compositionally. real nerd critique but if I were to share this with anyone it’d be big camille.
feels like i’ve heard every cadence, progression, melody, rhythm that woman has in stock and she’s just repackaging it over & over.
like 10 of her most famous songs are the exact same chord progression which isn't to say it's bad but what are we doing here man, you're a global icon u could make any music and it'll be massive/sell steadily
