fitting for the starman tho
It’s not god awful but it’s not very good
I think George Harrison’s kid is involved ? Iirc
Idk the needledrop vids on it are where I got most of my details in the remixes ngl
ya pretty sure harrisons kid is a musician of some sort as well
It’s not god awful but it’s not very good
as long as its better than that committed cover album he did..
especially since the beatles do all sorts of crazy panning lol and it’s just not something our ears are accustomed to anymore
The Beatles themselves did not care about their stereo mixes and weren't really involved in them until the white album

Pin ups …
The Beatles themselves did not care about their stereo mixes and weren't really involved in them until the white album
So the panning thing doesn't really apply to revolver or Sgt peppers

oh well whoever is responsible, they’re wild.
i dig it tho

It's not a cool creative choice
That would be fun though
It was simply a rush job

stereo was also a new technology and they wanted to take advantage of it
so the novelty of panning all the vocals to the right just felt cool
The label wanted them in stereo
The Beatles didn't care about stereo
At the time stereo recording was a bit more limited to pull off well
They rushed them and harshly separated things just to finish them basically
sort of a standard way of how we pan music now tho
kick, snare, bass, vocals always down the middle
two guitars, panned hard left/right
bit boring but it would be jarring to the modern listener if they didn’t do that

Mhm
Fun fact it was only Ringo that cared about the stereo mixes
But when he argued that they should participate in them John Lennon would just bribe him with mars bars until he agreed to be a good boy and play drums

I’m so surprised you don’t like the strokes lmao

ringo said “I like ta play tha drooms” ✌🏻☮️🕊️
I’m so surprised you don’t like the strokes lmao
actually been listening to First Impressions on Earth but mainly because of the Andy Wallace mixes
idk, i think they’re good but don’t resonate fully for me

First Impressions of Earth is fun, one of their weirder albums
God I feel like you would be like bruises and be a comedown machine fan

That's exactly what he said lol
All the time

That's the worst one

God I feel like you would be like bruises and be a comedown machine fan
I would like to make it clear that I don't put comedown machine over most of their discography
But they have no misses
the Get Back docuseries is funny, man.
john is halfway pretending to be interested in being there, and always checking to see when the camera man isnt looking so he could do d****
ringo mouthbreathing over his drumset has he watches his band brothers fight
paul desperately trying to hold the crew together and guide the ship
george getting pissed off by it because he finds it annoying and demanding
and yoko screeching like a gibbon monkey in the corner

idk, i think they’re good but don’t resonate fully for me
First two strokes albums, especially the first one, are good examples how much an artistic approach to mixing can add to an album
They would be so much less cool if they were all polished and clean
