Their prime for me would be 1999-2007. I have a soft spot for the older surreal episodes of the first 2 seasons. And Cartman being a dumbass fat kid with the scratchy voice before he evolved into the evil conniving kid was pretty damn funny.
Out of all the older animated shows (The Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad etc.) I think they fell off the least in comparison. They still had some great episodes afterwards.
