I’m just talking about general consensus. I rarely heard anyone s*** on Elon prior to the Trump stuff. He was pretty much universally considered a genius.

His 2nd term feels very different than his first. Trump 2 feels more focused and sinister than Trump 1. They got that project 2025 playbook now and I don’t imagine Trump being too passionate about most of those ideas but for whatever reason he’s complying to it.

What I said doesn’t contradict you here, lol. He’s like a Steve Jobs type figure (except having not conjured up the original ideas) but is overlooking these projects and pushing them into a particular direction. I agree with you.

i think a lot of cars built more recently are kinda shoddy. too many electronics. vehicles take too much impact to really do well

it's actually really annoying cus i want a new car. but most the ones i look at ppl just say yeah this s*** will get you 2 years then mysterious things occur and you have maintenance hell

Those are the “technical details” though. None of the ideas were original period. An electric car, a reusable space rocket, etc. Getting them to a usable and successful real life thing is the entire journey.

I mean… to an extent, but you already acknowledged that Elon isn’t on the ground floor doing the math on how to get a rocket off the ground.

It’s like Kanye in the mixing room. He knows what he wants to hear, he has a basic understanding of audio, but he’s not going “ok, sidechain x to the y and apply a HP filter on mid/side stereo field” (I know this stuff tho so this is my way of appearing smart and knowledgeable)
