WESLEYS THEORYPeople give Coloring Book a hard time for being a pretentious Christian rap album but it has some fun songs like No Problem, Mixtape and All Night. Smoke Break as well.
The Big Day is so so much worse.
Both have pretty great songs

I think his current run is good but that gap wasnt a fun period
I was just commenting on the fact that's when I liked him arguably more than drake and maybee kanye during certain moments
The gap is overstated tbh
He was very active in 2018 as well with the features and Black Panther and being on tour.
2019 he took time away because he had become a bit overexposed over the last couple of years
Morale was gonna drop 2020 but he pushed it back because of COVID and wanting to tour.
Which I think was a blessing in disguise for the album tbh because some of the scraps from it were ass.
He was gone for like a 2 year period from mid 2019 to Family Ties

too scared to drop an album so he drops an album where the flute doesn't even play for half the song because he's an utterly mediocre flute player
legitimately is worse at the flute than cudi on guitar or eminem picking a beat

they always say that but most of morale was done in 2020 so what break? he did the soundtrack in 2018 and then worked on morale in late 2019-2020 he just didnt drop because of covid
