It’s not believing the fbi, the fbi distorted the situation heavily with a tunnel vision lense. It’s believing the result of the court, but not only that, understanding the bullshit the evidence was.

Simply put, the parents also became friends with MJ and were smitten with him and his money. Once MJ got busy and stopped paying as much attention to them, they got hurt and jealous and went after his money to maintain the pampering they received.

MJs biggest mistake was settling in 1993. He would’ve won if he had taken them to court because the actual evidence was laughable. He only settled because the scrutiny was literally killing him.
