But I think it’s that having such a different world view just makes different and interesting art, which could be accomplished with or without those conditions.

Idk tortured artists do make great music and art but imo that art isn’t more important than their lives. I think the tortured artist reaches a point where they realize I can keep burning the match from both ends and really go out in a blaze or do the scarier thing which is get right and learn how to make music from a diff place. All great artists struggle with that battle I believe. Kanye said he found it hard to make music when on BPD meds and in his comfy ass house in the palisades

Yeah 100%. And making art is a fully selfless act anyway, where you’re giving a part of yourself to the world. So I think artists are inclined to sacrifice themselves anyway.
Personally I would be doing the s*** I do with or without making art, I don’t do it TO make art. Which I think a lot of these people probably fall in that category too

no it all depends what you buy, even gold (rose, white, yellow) can be cheap ish depending on if it's a designer brand, style, weight etc
regular materials like blacks/silvers/metals are all affordable and you can get a good ring for 300-800
the last ring i bought was this for xmas for myself
