the first album success was a grower though so a few months before Like a Virgin came out she already had 2 top 10 hits and album was platinum. so she was already a breakout star

then Like a Virgin came out and climbed to #1 and all the girls were like and started to become fans and copy her style etc. while the parents were scared

everyone thought its debut performance with her in a wedding dress and writhing on the ground with underwear showing at the end was the craziest s*** ever. her manager thought she killed her career
