90% of it being tony and dr melfi is why i gravitate towards it plus the parallel with chris feeling lost, suffering from depression and wanting to actual do something meaningful hits
the scene of tony and chris in the car both being depressed and going through the same s*** but being unable to open up to each other because of their bravado mafia code bullshit is incredible and one of my fav scenes ever

I just don’t care for Tony’s mom stuff much and it had a very like light goodfellas type tone that after having finished the show I don’t like compared to later seasonsPlus I was always a big fan of the like seasonal guest mafia dudes who never make it out of a season alive
