As always the reality is in the middle. Your view is not crazy and has been said before (that it’s an overrated diss track). I think it’s just a matter of to what extent are you judging it negatively.

Factually, ether was regarded as a classic diss track and high water mark when it first dropped. But then a decade later people revisited it and it didn’t hold up super well.

To call it a “weak diss track” is overstating it, I’d say.
