honestly i'm not sure. i think some of them sure but I think some of them seem like lyrics where she was genuinely trying to write good poetic ones and didnt realize how awkward they sound

like when she breaks out some awkward really long words to make a sentence trying to be super poetic. lines like that won't get attention but they absolutely detract from what shes going for

Also should probably take my opinion with a grain of salt because I haven't paid attention to most of the lyrics. it's a pretty dense album with a lot of words so I might come away from it thinking theyre mostly good or mostly awful

im really tryna be open minded and subjective but shes giving me nothing to work with. it’s all standard, formulaic, taylor songs. they just have goofier lyrics this time around

i think Dessner might be similar too at this point even though they arent besties like her and Jack

she doesnt even need to dump them entirely just bring someone else in for another voice and something fresh. all those samey boring songs could have been adjusted a little bit by someone else to keep them fresher while still retaining what Taylor wants to do

I feel the same as ur last paragraph. Even some of the lyrics that keep getting posted as "horrible" I can still kinda see what she's trying to imply w em and don't find em nearly as bad.

But ofc if u dislike her ur gonna hyperfixiate on them as "stand outs" to find more reasons to trash on her. Asif no other artists has silly lyrics

Finished the album.

I really don’t have much else to say, outside of what I already said. Incredibly stale listening experience. I’m feeling a 3/10, I felt almost nothing the entire time and I wish I could pay it some sorta compliment to not sound like a complete hater but it’s legit so devoid of flavor.
