Cole can't just completely crash out and destroy his image by participating in a beef he never had a chance of winning in in the eyes of the public

Because it destroys his career and his label who are only on based on their connection to him goes down with him

I don't think he forfeited because after initiating the beef and then hearing kendricks response recording anither song with more shots he realized "wait Kendrick is super duper good"

i think we more or less agree but are coming at this at certain angles. i dont think Cole solely forfeited because Kendrick outraps him, but knows the public thinks he’s the superior rapper.

My whole argument was that I wasn't using it as a reason to hype up Kendrick because that makes no sense

like yeah, that’s not the “spirit” of rap but also this was hardly a serious beef. If he wants to prioritize his relationship with Kendrick and feels embarrassed by that song, by all means. He just looks silly for starting this in the first place.
