I heard that defense used by Gambino Stan’s before and it’s like even if the concept was to make it feel “unfinished” because it’s how how he felt losing his dad, it still could’ve been executed better overall. Feel like the reason he even mentioned that being the concept was because the concept was not executed correctly and it didn’t resonate with people the way he thought it would.
