will you land in europe tonight
Maybe idk yet
Probably out of the movie jokers
Heath played the heck out of that role but yea....
joker movie sucked ...
Sequel this year and it’s a musical
I like Jacks version.
Basically Ceaser Romaro from the Sixies Batman made slightly darker.
Which is much closer to what I think of when I think of the joker
Sequel this year and it’s a musical
Unfortunately lady Gaga is playing Harley Quinn which is rad so I will be watching
generational comedian, one of the greatest already
you get it
Sequel this year and it’s a musical
I’m gonna watch it just because I’m very intrigued by the concept. Such a weird idea to do for your smash hit follow up. Feels like they’re banking on Gaga to bring other people in that might not have interest in CBM or adjacent to that.
Maybe idk yet
:rickross:
understandable, itll be a sweep
Don’t know why Hollywood keeps pouring so much money into musicals though, especially musical remakes. Most musicals within the last 10 years either underperform or flop entirely. It’s not the 50s and 60s anymore when that s*** was a huge success.
we’ve yet to see Fielders peak. once that man starts making big budget movies its over for everybody.
it's alright, the people we're letting into creative spaces of any medium whether it be art, music, movies, television, fashion
have no respect for, knowledge of or appreciation of the giants and things that came before them. It shows with the hacks that have become big in the last 10 years
we'll never have another beatles, another kubrick, another bowie, another hitchcock
I don’t fully disagree with some of the sentiment you’re getting at here but this also isn’t the case for everyone in those mediums, very generalizing statement. Plenty of people who do have respect for their forefathers and want to carry s*** on in their own way we just might not like that way.
Yes we will never have another Bowie, Kubrick or Hitchcock bc their time has passed they did their part and it’s on us to carry it forward. We don’t know who the next guy is bc they may not even know it themselves yet or we don’t have the perspective on them yet like we do with these legends
But for everyone of these people I refer to there are definitely people we are only in it for soulless reasons like fame or money
you get it
never seen him do anything that wasn't groundbreaking in terms of originality/programming

it undermines the whole original because there was some great weight to the fact you could make an argument none of the movie happened, only parts of it were real etc but nope with a sequel it essentially forces the viewer to acknowledge all of joker 1 was real and happened
pulling the rug from the viewers feet and cutting off interpretation is certainly a choice but like all things in this modern world it generated a f*** ton of money, was a culturally relevant movie and therefore a sequel was guaranteed smh
I’m gonna be in the Grammy thread
Sorry big dawg you know what the deal is
Do you have your apology text ready for when you eventually beat Kendrick in the category?
tokin up then ima find somewhere to s***

the musical genre is dead for sure, 4 of the highest grossing movies and acclaimed movies ever made in their decades (westside story, my fair lady, mary poppins, sound of music) were all musicals. the main reason musicals don't work anymore is because the music in musicals is F***ING GARBAGE, like legitimately 2/10 level bad
the music is meant to aid the story and develop the characters not be the backbone of the entire damn movie

I think bc old Hollywood folks like Spielberg still love em. I like the old ones but I too cannot be bothered to check out a modern musical
